The talent behind the robot:
Danielle, Jonathan, and Thomas |
To shoot, or not to
shoot: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler
in the CPU to suffer
the blocks and
Frisbees of outrageous fortune,
Or to raise arms
against a pyramid of troubles,
And by opposing
outscore them? To discharge: to
sleep-mode;
To sleep-mode:
perchance to dream of a Tony Award!

June 8-9, 2013: TechBrick 3941's Robot,
Kelvin, Performs in a Ballet
TechBrick's FRC 3941's Robot, Kelvin, was
asked to join the Harford County Ballet Company
(http://www.harfordballetcompany.org)
by invitation through Barclay Gibbs, creative
director. As far as we know this the first FRC
robot to ever appear in a ballet.
Kelvin plays the "Contraption" for Belle's
dad, Maurice. We used flashing LED Frisbees to
make an automatic fireworks machine for the
ballet and put 'animation gloves' on his lifter
so he could get scared. He enters with
Maurice before he goes on his journey. When the
wolves appear, Maurice and Kelvin get frightened
and run off. He even got to take a bow.
Enjoy!
