Team Tips from TechBrick

Here are some articles to help you along the way.

UPDATED! Get Great Clothing
for your Team.

All you need to
know about team shirts.

You've worked hard to prep your team. You've paid your fees, made your plans, spent hours in preparation. Why not look like a million bucks?

NEW! Remote Training with GoToMeeting (or similar products) With three rookie programmers we needed a quick boost to get them up to speed on Robot C. We turned to a great team from Maryland, Under the Son, from SSI Robotics.  But the Spangler's live about 3 hours from our house so we needed a solution.  Read the story to see how it worked.

NEW! Build a Cool FTC Workshop In our first year of FTC with worked with some basic tools including a hand drill and Dremel tool along with some tin snips. While this did enable us to build a robot we really struggled with cutting metal and other items including the hardened axles. So this year we built a small workshop with amazingly affordable tools from Sears (though you can get them from a number of other sources).

NEW! The best LEGO Book Ever A few months ago we were asked to review an amazing book by no starch press: "The Cult of LEGO." It simply one of the coolest books ever written about this amazing toy and tool.

It has more than 280 full color pages covering almost every topic and task accomplished with LEGO bricks and parts. You can see the table of contents and sample pages below.

I took it to a church youth meeting and we could barely get the kids back on task (we were building rockets). The poured over the book for more than an hour.

So if you have a LEGO fan in your house (even you) this would make a great Christmas gift (or an anytime gift). If you buy it, please use the link to the right. It won't cost you any more but it will help TechBrick.
